Prigozhin was buried in a private ceremony at Porokhovskoe Cemetery in Saint
Petersburg, beside his father.

Yevgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin died in an airplane crash in Tver Oblast, Russia.
The crash, which killed all 10 people on board, is believed by Western officials
to have been caused by an explosion on board, possibly due to sabotage.

Prigozhin met with Freddy Mapouka, a presidential advisor in the Central African
Republic, and the head of the Cameroonian pro-Russian media outlet Afrique
Média, during the 2023 Russia–Africa Summit.

Wagner forces crossed into Russia's Rostov Oblast from Luhansk, encountering no
opposition. Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the nation, denouncing
Wagner's actions as 'treason' and vowing to take 'harsh steps' to suppress the
rebellion.

Prigozhin launched a rebellion against the Russian military leadership, claiming
that regular Russian armed forces had launched missile strikes against Wagner
forces. Wagner forces captured Rostov-on-Don and advanced toward Moscow.

Prigozhin accused the regular Russian army forces of running away from their
positions and threatened that if he did not receive ammunition, his forces would
withdraw from their positions.
