Adele won her Emmy in the "outstanding variety special (pre-recorded)" category for Adele: One Night Only and is now just a Tony award away from achieving the rare, four-of-a-kind sweep known as an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony). The EGOT is considered the grand slam of show business — and only very few performers have been able to achieve it.
Adele won three out the four main prizes at the Brit Awards. The singer won best artist, album and song of the year for Easy on Me.
The ceremony marked the second time Adele swept the Grammys, winning all three general field categories again and making history. "Hello" won the awards for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, while 25 won the awards for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. During her acceptance for Album of the Year, she praised Beyoncé's album, Lemonade, which was also nominated, and confirmed her marriage to longtime boyfriend Simon Konecki. However, Adele later revealed to British Vogue that the couple didn’t actually wed until 2018, noting that she just called Konecki her husband beforehand “because we had a kid together.”
