Leonardo DiCaprio. Early Life and Education

Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio was born in Los Angeles, California, to parents George DiCaprio and Irmelin DiCaprio. He was named after the famous artist Leonardo da Vinci, as his mother was looking at a da Vinci painting when he first kicked in her womb.

At the age of 11, DiCaprio's agent suggested he change his name to Lenny Williams for broader appeal, but he refused and stuck with his birth name.

DiCaprio was signed by an agent at the age of 13, marking the beginning of his professional career.
