Matthew Perry. Early Life and Family

Matthew Langford Perry was born in Williamstown, Massachusetts, to Suzanne Langford and John Bennett Perry.

Matthew's parents separated when he was just an infant. He was raised primarily by his mother in Ottawa, Ontario.

Matthew grew up in Ottawa, where his mother, Suzanne Langford, served as press secretary to Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. He also developed a passion for tennis and was nationally ranked in Canada.

Matthew moved to Los Angeles to live with his father, John Bennett Perry, and attended Buckley School. He began taking improv classes at the LA Connection.

Matthew graduated from Buckley School and decided to pursue a career in acting instead of attending university.
